Climate Action Plan

At Camps Hill Primary School, we recognise our responsibility to care for our planet and to prepare our pupils to become environmentally conscious citizens of the future. Our Climate Action Plan sets out our commitment to reducing our environmental impact, building resilience, and creating a culture where sustainability is understood, valued and actively practised across the whole school community.

Central to this work is our Eco School Council—a dedicated group of pupils who lead, champion and shape our environmental initiatives. Their voice is vital. They help identify priorities, monitor progress, and inspire others through campaigns, assemblies and hands‑on projects. By empowering children to take the lead, we nurture confidence, responsibility and real ownership of climate action.

Our plan brings together practical steps in areas such as energy use, waste reduction, biodiversity, travel and climate education. Through curriculum links, whole‑school events and community partnerships, we aim to deepen understanding and encourage positive change both in school and at home.

Together—with pupils, staff, families and our Eco School Council—we are building a more sustainable school and helping our young people understand that even small actions can make a big difference. This plan is our commitment to creating a greener, healthier future for everyone.
